A Kaizou web online editor is now available: modify any web page and see the result instantly (only registered users can save their modifications though).
Try it out here.
Note: The editor dialog boxes look sometimes ugly under IE. I will try to fix it later

I finally took the time to fix the Firefox 2.0.0.13 Kaizou extension bug. The extension should be available in a few hours on all mozdev mirrors.

I finally managed to implement a full Kaizou support on the server side, as opposed to the javascript or Firefox add-on client implementation. The only restriction is that if the page is modified on the client by a post-load javascript, the Kaizou modifications will not be applied on the modified parts.
Anyway, I have never been fully satisfied by the javascript version, that was both slow and unreliable, especially on IE, so I will soon migrate to the server counterpart.
As a bonus, I have allowed user to ask a kaizou file to be applied on the page they want, so I expect it to be used more extensively.

I have just discovered that the Kaizou extension was used by bad guys to scam people, luring them to trade fake stuff based on kaizoed screen captions. I don’t want to advertize this too much so I won’t give any details, but I feel very sorry for the victims, although they should not faithfully trust any screen caption, knowing the vast amount of tools at disposal to modify Web pages or images.

The latest version of the Kaizou extension has been finally elected for publication on the addons.mozilla.org site.
I am not completely satisfied with the new site: the screenshots (preview) system is for instance completely buggy !

I have added a new feature to the Kaizou repository: registered users can now choose whether the files they submit are available to public audience or not.
Private files are only displayed to their owner when he is logged in.

The addons.mozilla.org site has been totally reworked, and i haven’t been able until today to post the latest version of the extension on addons.mozilla.org.
I am a bit worried though, because the validation process has changed, and I must go through a ’sandbox’ stage before having my new version accepted. I will keep you informed.

I’ve just realized that I messed up between the two extension branches ! The one on addons.mozilla.org must not include auto-update, so I have to remove the auto-update link every time I post on addons.mozilla.org … but this time I forgot to put it back for version 0.5 to 0.5.3 !
I have posted tonight a fixed 0.5.3 version, but it won’t be available on mozdev mirrors until a few hours. I recommend you to reinstall the extension from tomorrow on to have the auto-update work again.
